ABOUT LKEG

L'KEG is a loving-shoe-box-size multimedia, all ages, creative space that branches itself out as a gallery. We are located in the county of Los Angeles in Echo Park, beneath the bridge on Glendale Blvd.

We are an outlet for those in search of substance and bewilderment. We encourage and support the development, exchange and presentation of creative ideas.

Our aesthetics consist of providing DIY workshops, rare and local indie film screenings, art exhibits, academic tutoring and musical lessons by appt only, and live musical performances. Our events are fairly low-key, we accommodate minimal percussion. We are NOT a venue.A small section of our space is treated as a boutique for local artist to sale their merchandise. We also carry vintage clothing for sale.

L'KEG was name after a line taken for the film "Velvet Gold Mine" a film directed and co-written by Todd Haynes. L.K.E.G is an appreciation of "Lipstick Kissed Elbow Glove," but easily pronounce as Le-Keg.

We like to keep things affordable, and accessible to all audiences, so all our events are $5 dollars unless stated and all ages. We are not- for-profit and are volunteer run. There are no outside beverages (alcohol, soda) or food allowed, no exceptions.

We have neighbors upstairs/next door, please do not block their doorways and remember to pick up after yourself. If you're interested in doing something here, just ask.

Blue Jungle members, Cory Myrick, Leticia-Llesmin, Nosebleed, and Shannon Stroh, founded LKEG Gallery in Sept. 2007 in hope of forming a new home for artists, free thinkers, etc. to create together and create a series of events that mean something or nothing at all, just a place they can rehearse, withdraw, and draw.

We're not only DO-IT-YOURSELF, but believers of DO-IT- TOGETHER.
